Making Great Pictures

Lecture no. 1 from the course: Fundamentals of Photography

Making Great Pictures

Taught by Professor Joel Sartore | 34 min | Categories: Hobby & Leisure

What makes a photograph iconic? What three things must every picture have to stand out from any old snapshot? These two questions form the core of Mr. Sartore’s introduction to the course. You’ll also discover that a great picture doesn’t rely on equipment—but on being able to see and think critically about your surroundings.

Joel Sartore is an amazing teacher. I am a 50 year old CPA (who has no creativity whatsoever) who just got his first dslr camera. Joel has opened my eyes to more than just photography. Not only am I seeing light differently, I am learning to appreciate the subtleties of nature. The tips and hints he gives in his lectures are priceless. I am looking forward to seeing all 4 courses he offers.
