Excellent Course for Beginning Spanish Students

I have tried various approaches to learning basic Spanish, including Rosetta Stone and Spanish 101 at the local community college, but I think Professor Worden does a superior job of teaching beginning Spanish students. His lessons cover vocabulary, grammar & pronunciation in a way that makes it much easier to learn. The course also includes glossaries and exercises for each chapter and I found them helpful as well.

Brilliant Course Design!

Brilliant, innovative course designed for quick absorption and long term learning. How? Professor Worden introduces simple rules that cover many words. His orderly style of leap-frogging forward, then weaving principle into practice, and shuttling back to cover exceptions, works so well, so fast, that you feel happily "programmed" for Spanish. Includes culture, travel, and technology topics. Introduces Spanish language websites for news, weather, and arts. Outstanding audio glossary and workbook. This course hot links you into the Spanish-speaking universe and gives you the confidence to live there. Invite a friend to take it with you.

A Great Way to Learn Spanish

Professor Worden has a very well-thought-out method for teaching Spanish. He not only teaches the material at an excellent level, he also offers various learning strategies and encouragement to help the student learn. He talks a great deal about HOW to learn, not just what to learn - for example: looking for cognates, three important questions to ask when encountering any new concept, and how to practice a language in many different ways. The last 15 minutes of each lecture features an audio glossary and speaking activities to help reinforce the new materials - I find this particularly helpful and a good way to practice. Dr. Worden is also very personable - he understands different students' mindsets and offers advice based on that, as well as sharing examples from his own life and past experience as a teacher. I had taken a different introductory course in Spanish a few years ago, but this course was a hundred times more helpful thanks to Dr. Worden's teaching method. ¡Muchas gracias, profesor!
