Infancy Gospels

Lecture no. 10 from the course: Lost Christianities: Christian Scriptures and the Battles over Authentication

 Infancy Gospels

Taught by Professor Bart D. Ehrman | 31 min | Categories: The Great Courses Plus Online Philosophy & Religion Courses

The Gospels of the New Testament say very little about Jesus' life as an infant and young boy. This "lost period" is the subject of several early Gospels, however, including the Proto-Gospel of James, and the Infancy Gospel of Thomas.

Excellent except for one thing that drives me crazy. Please Professor, read the passages more thoughtfully. Presenting them all like an angry Moses obscures rather than enhances understanding and enjoyment. Again, thank you for a great course in all other respects.
