I have trouble getting too excited about using 4% of the course to tell us what we are going to learn, but the Professor does a nice job here of introducing himself and his subject. He makes an interesting point that the history of South America is an evolving subject as more bits of evidence are being discovered all the time. What he learned about South America a few decades back is already mostly obsolete. I look forward to learning about a continent I know virtually nothing about and in 10 years when it all changes again I can take Version 2! The professor clearly knows his material and has a relaxed smooth style. I think this will be a good course.
