Stage Presence—A Way of Life

Lecture no. 24 from the course: Mastering Stage Presence: How to Present to Any Audience

Stage Presence—A Way of Life

Taught by Professor Melanie M. Long | 31 min | Categories: Professional & Personal Development

Conclude by contemplating what great performers do, and how presence can be a way of life. Consider how master performers engage and question the world by reflecting what they see, telling the truth, taking risks, transforming what they receive from others into something new, and finding what gives them the greatest joy.

This was a well worth listening and paying attention to. Professor Long is a great teacher and gives her audience much to reflect on. This course is worth listening to again in sections where you need to practice the voice exercises and it was a focus mostly on performance art as it used mostly examples from theater and Williams' "Street Car Named Desire," a great favorite of mine, which was used numerous times to drive points home. She really covers everything in mastering stage presence. Although it is focused on the actor it is equally applied to business, public speaking situations. This is a keeper. Listen, apply and you will reap the benefits. This professor is very clear, gives generously of herself and practices what she preaches, a definite listen to again.
