Dr. Starbird is on TGC because he is a 'nice' person; and I'm glad for that, I really am. But he comes, perhaps, from that old-fashioned tradition which believes its science should be obfuscated, particularly at first and to beginners. It's there well enough, if you dig for it, and the course is perhaps only meant to make you curious--but you will need a full text, and make more progress by it than these videos, fairly quickly. Other reviewers are correct that TCG does need to update both this and their statistics course soon---finding a balance between the 'R on the computer' course and Dr. Starbird's not-quite-magic tricks. It's a difficult call, I understand.
