Terrific course for those of us interested in history! Dr. Tuck is an excellent presenter with amazing diction, pace, and speaking skills. He explains everything exceptionally well so I learned a lot and found the entire course interesting. I wish he had started the course with a short explanation of the architectural terms that repeatedly come up during the course, although I could easily Google anything I didn't know. Note that this course does a great job of describing the "what" and "why" of the palaces; the "why" I think is unique to this course. If you want to understand more of the "how" these palaces were built (i.e., the technology available at the time) I highly recommend the sections on Greek/Roman and structural engineering explained in one or both of Dr. Ressler's courses "Understanding the World's Greatest Structures" and/or "Greek and Roman Technology." Dr. Ressler does a great job explaining the techniques that Dr. Tuck repeatedly refers to in this course and allowed me to even better appreciate "The Architecture of Power." Well done!
