This was a fascinating course on a humongous subject and by necessity, analyses of individual sacred musical compositions fell somewhat short. Nonetheless, what was analysed in each piece was fascinating and thorough. With such prodigious knowledge of the field as he has, I would recommend a few courses devoted to a particular time period of sacred music, such as the 18th and 19th centuries specifically, for those of us who have enjoyed this "introduction". Outside of a few enunciative stumbles here and there, a fine course indeed
