I found this course to be extremely helpful and inspiring. I'm a new gardener and thankful to have this science-based information and guidance sooner rather than later.

This course changed the way I garden, helped give me encouragement to clear out my front home garden which was filling up with english ivy and introduce wood chip mulch to all of my beds and vegetable gardens. I learned a lot and corrected some errors that were stunting my yields. One thing I translated to my vegetable planting this year of tomatoes and peppers was the bare root suggestion. The plants took remarkably well and seem to be growing very nicely. In general, I very much enjoyed this course. The instructor was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the topic. She also communicated the concepts in a clear and well organized fashion. Very easy to listen to with examples galore, visits to Arboretums for field examples and much tell and show added very useful lessons. I would highly recommend this course to anyone serious about gardening. Very good content (including the guidebook which is very well done with relevant pictures which reinforce the lessons) One of the best courses I have taken from The Great Courses so far. Learned a lot and will come back to it for some refreshers on a few of the topics as well. Highly recommended for anyone who wishes to improve their gardening skills, knowledge and success with both selection and planting.
