I would have preferred a slightly more personable and less didactic approach to bridging the gap between gardening folk wisdom and "academic science". Perhaps less reliance on dogmatic dismissal of knowledge not produced by academics and more encouragement and education on how to use the scientific method to experiment. But overall, the course adds value because it is comprehensive and addresses the needs of most gardeners. Curiously, the course leaves out a discussion of GMO and GM techniques in farming and gardening. I hope this is not because this is an area where the science does not neatly fits into the ideologies of academia.

Extremely interesting. I enjoyed it immensely and will be mulching from now and forever. Thank you, Professor Chalker-Scott!
