The is a horrible course! My wife and I have watched around 40 Great Courses and this is the first that we have not wanted to complete. The professor reads jerkily from a teleprompter placing pauses at inappropriate points, as though she is reading the script for the first time. She also has wild gestures and facial expressions for nearly every single word. In many lectures she incorporates one or more quotes from some academic authority as though she is a high school student giving an oral report. She's a professor; she is supposed to be an authority herself. The organization of the course is illogical. (History of Russia by Mark Steinberg is a much better course.)
