Great course. Very informative and insightful. The lectures put to rest some very bad exegesis of the book. Thanks.

I think this is a very important course for many people to watch. Even as a lifelong atheist who never believed a word of the Bible, I was under the impression that Revelation was a book of predictions about the future, simply because that is the perspective I have been exposed to through the culture. Dr. Koester makes a compelling case that this is not the correct way to view the book, but rather that it has to be read as a communication to people of its time about events and problems of its time. There have been so many different perspectives about what Revelation 'really' means over the years that if you are convinced that you know the secret message of the text, Dr. Koestrer's lectures will probably make you second-guess that conviction.
