Looking Forward to the Complete Series
Excellent lecture! I am looking forward to the complete series. I recommend watching this lecture in conjunction with Dr. Andrew Wilson's series, 'Masters of War: History's Greatest Strategic Thinkers'. Dr. Wilson also has some very interesting things to say about Sun Tzu and von Clausewitz.

I really enjoyed Professor Adler's course "How Science Shapes Science Fiction". He is able to draw up on a vast repertoire of science fiction works to give examples on a broad variety of topics. I enjoyed his analysis in this lecture and would like to see a full course expanding on Politics and War in Science Fiction.

Sorry to give a negative review
Maybe I'v been spoiled by Steven Gimbel's wonderful courses, but I found this quite thin. In the description, it says the lecture would discuss "how both books interpret the philosophy and psychology of warfare". I feel like I missed that bit. Clausewitz, PTSD and sociobiology were briefly mentioned but nothing is gone into in any depth. It's a shame as obviously these two novels offer a great opportunity for this sort of analysis.
