Plus Pilots: Ender’s Game: Politics and War in Science Fiction

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sorry to give a negative review Maybe I'v been spoiled by Steven Gimbel's wonderful courses, but I found this quite thin. In the description, it says the lecture would discuss "how both books interpret the philosophy and psychology of warfare". I feel like I missed that bit. Clausewitz, PTSD and sociobiology were briefly mentioned but nothing is gone into in any depth. It's a shame as obviously these two novels offer a great opportunity for this sort of analysis.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Pilot Review Seems like a book report. I recommend lectures by David Kyle Johnson as doing a much better job.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Thoughtful analysis I've watched Professor Adler's series "How Science Shapes Science Fiction" and enjoyed it. This series promises to be as well-presented and the subject as well-analysed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Magnificent Professor! The subject matter is DEEP, but well done and it does not leave you feeling drained. I would like to see more of his work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Surprising take on a fascinating topic ... The lecturer knows his stuff. In a surprisingly brilliant way, he uses political science as well as ethics, philosophy in general etc. Please ... let him teach a full course on the topic: at least 36 lectures.
