Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great introduction - Tinkering & Basic Electricity This course is geared towards young learners. I think this pilot is wildly successful and that Teaching Co rolls out the rest of the course. The instructor keep her explanations clear so most learners can easily - she hit the bull's eye!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Educational, but very basic. Great for children. As an electrician I noticed a glaring error in this lecture. When explaining the circuit with the light bulb and the 9 volt battery, the professor gave incorrect information regarding the bulb. The button on the bottom of the bulb is what is connected to the + (hot) wire. The larger metal surrounding the bulb (the base) connects to the – (ground) wire. This is the same as a regular household light bulb in its socket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for kids! While Great Courses Plus subscription is primarily for myself, my spouse and my high schooler, I was excited to watch this pilot with my engineering-minded elementary student. He absolutely loved it! I would love to see more courses geared toward high school and younger ages. We are looking forward to more lectures in this Tinkering series!
