Rated 3 out of 5 by from I watched the whole course. It was excruciating at some points to keep interested. I’m an old school student, but what I always disliked, borderline feel as if lack of visual, terminology and name prompts makes this lecture predate to 1980’s. (The only update was the use of video presentation of dry college lecture with no chalk. To rework this course with those suggestions is advised. Otherwise the links were revealing, and this doctorate of the information is the best explanation of dense material I have read or seen. There is merit in this research. Bring it modern and get input of viewer staff along the way as new student adhering to presentation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dr Spence’s ability to understandably and clearly discuss the creation of, similarities and the commonalities of secret cabals/organizations down through history, along with their effects upon our societies is well worth one’s time to listen to and to expand your mind. It was both engrossing and enlightening.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Untangling conspiracies? I'm at the middle and will continue because I didn't yet got to the main point of the book but it already start to feel like the author is about to say that secret societies are meaningless in our life's and although exists doesn't really affected us. So far the book is a collection of history facts about secret societies. The author learnt the facts like a historian and as if tries to convince me thru those facts, which are in most part missing alot of information due to the fact that the author doesn't have all the facts. He can easily be a secret society spokesman try to convince us that they dont affect us - so dont worry. I will continue listening but it sounds like an unfair coverage to the topic. I will add another comment after I'll finish if I'll change my mind at the end.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from borderline atrocious don't be mislead by my giving this course a 2 rating. The only thing saving it from a much deserved 1 rating was the often interesting historical info that accompanied the lectures. However, the course is mostly absurd nonsense; is disjointed, out of order & with little true focus. It makes absurd reaches; spews out a multitude of forgettable names; & has no sense of direction.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I really enjoyed this course! This was a fascinating course. It is a survey of many secret societies, rather than going into depth of just a few, which I enjoyed. I thought it was a great balance of evidence and speculation, and was without bias. This course had me thinking differently about history and the interconnectedness of seemingly disparate events. This is an area of history I was not previously very familiar with! I would highly recommend!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Confusing order of lectures I only watched 4 lectures so far but have already something to say: the order of lectures is absolutely wrong: the lectures ## 4,5,6 and 7 should be put at the end of the course and this is why: those lectures are mostly about how the Freemasons influenced American, French and Russian revolutions. The lecturer goes on and on: the masons did this, the masons did that, gives a long line of names who belonged to that society ... Excuse me, but we don't know yet WHO were the Freemasons, when did they come around and from where? And what was the idea that sprang their that society for existence? What was the ideology that required them to form that society as secret? Not a word about that! So, I just wasted my time watching / listening the lecture #4 before the lecture about the Freemasons that is placed at the end of the course! My advice to everyone: skip those lectures until you reached the #14.
