Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting pilot! It is an interesting pilot. Learned and caught up in the racial division in American sports, especially in Baseball. I think this professor makes a case on Negro Baseball league's rise, impact and politics.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Rise of the Negro League Pilot This pilot is nice historical summary of the Negro Baseball League, but felt like it was narrated from a couple of pages in a history book without a lot of media to back it to add interest and provide more dynamic content. I think the subject is absolutely relevant and documents a sad time in our history but the delivery of the material needs work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Introduction This pilot is a fascinating introduction to the rise of Negro League Baseball. It profiles an unfortunate time in American and Baseball history when some of the greatest players in the game were kept in the shadows due to racial prejudice. Again, excellent historical knowledge.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Boring, bad presentation While I am not a huge sports fan, a well told story can engage me and keep me interested a for the entire show. However, the presentation was uninteresting, not well organized and just plain boring. This "class" would not be interesting unless you are already have a high interest in the subject matter and able to put up with an inferior presentation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Interesting Not a subject I am very interested in, but has good information. Might make a good course.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Interesting, but could be expanded Interesting short introduction of the NNL, and I would like to see a full course on this, hopefully with a LOT more visual content. As an expansion on this, or as a parallel course, I would like to see lectures on the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Also of interest would be the Minor Leagues (especially the Pacific Coast League), the Japanese Leagues, baseball in the Olympics, the Mexican League, etc...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent summary of the history It is always worthwhile to learn about the people involved in our history. A full accounting of the players involved would ne educational.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A Good Reminder This video is a good reminder about how far we've come regarding racism in America. Sadly, we are now (2021) regressing to a place where race is the first and foremost subject regarding personal relationships. I thought the information was good, but would also like more visuals instead of watching the speaker for the vast majority of the time. Clearer ennunciation would also help.
